Discover the French Riviera hiking or by VTC

Port de Monaco

The French Riviera and the surroundings of Beausoleil are full of splendid places to discover. Situated between sea and mountains, this gives rise to magnificent landscapes perched at medium altitude and offering a glimpse of the blue expanse of the Mediterranean.

These landscapes are moreover visible thanks to our VTC drivers who take the roads connecting Nice and the principality during a transfer with a private driver from the airport for example.

A hike from Beausoleil to Nice ?

To enjoy the French Riviera for a few hours and its landscapes, there are several hikes along the coast. By the sea or slightly climbing in the heights, there is something for everyone.

One of the most beautiful walks connects the Beausoleil train station to the Riquier train station in Nice. After the departure from the principality, the path climbs up to La Turbie and then passes under the park of La Revère. It then turns westward to go along the park of the great corniche and passes by the Plateau de la Justice and then by the Vinaigrier.

The private driver option

The points of interest that this hike crosses are also accessible by car with one of our VTC drivers. This allows you to avoid the five to six hours of walking required for this easy but long hike, but above all to be sure to travel in comfort.

Beausoleil continues to grow

Since 2015 Beausoleil has been home to a 2 billion euros construction site on its waterfront. This huge figure shows the greatness of the project. Private driver Nice tells you all about it.

A new surface out of the water

The work site does not stand on the seashore, it stands in the sea! Indeed, located between the beaches and the mountains, the city of Beausoleil has difficulty to expand. In fact, it is one, if not the first, of the densest cities in the world in terms of number of inhabitants per square kilometer. To add six new hectares, it was therefore necessary to make room where it was possible, which means by extending towards the sea.

Technical feats

It is expected to be completed by 2025 and will house five buildings and fourteen villas. However, it was not a foregone conclusion. Between safeguarding the local fauna and flora, soundproofing and succeeding in backfilling all the volume of water that this represented, the construction site is on a large scale.

The foundations are supposed to be finished by the end of 2020, hoping that the pandemic has not delayed everything.

Finally, the first buildings will be completed by 2022 and our private drivers will be able to transport you to the extension of the Grimaldi Forum scheduled for 2024.

Towards clean mobility. What about private drivers in all this?

In France and particularly on the Côte d’Azur, to make the energy transition as successful as possible and to respect the environment, the trend is going towards clean mobility. Electric vehicles, bicycles and scooters are in the spotlight and cities are adapting to offer appropriate solutions. In the city of Nice, for example, numerous bicycle paths have sprung up here and there.

Difficulties to connect the whole coast

In this region, public transport does not provide easy and fast connections to the coastal towns. Using a private driver service for a transfer from Nice airport to Beausoleil, for example, is a good solution.

Can private drivers switch to green vehicles?

Most private chauffeurs drive cars with an internal combustion engine¬ (nearly 90%). It is also important in this sector to respect a certain standing, which means generally rather luxurious vehicles with a high level of a comfort.

However, it seems to be economically profitable. Per 100 km the average cost of an electric vehicle is almost three times less. In addition, the state is introducing a conversion premium for drivers wishing to switch from an internal combustion engine to an electric one, which makes the price very affordable.

How to properly set up for driving?

Chauffeur qui conduit

We all remember our driving lessons at driving school, “adjust your seat, move the mirrors, adjust the steering wheel and put on your seat belt”.  Indeed, these are elementary safety rules that allow you to feel more comfortable at the wheel, but also to react more easily and to carry out your checks more efficiently.

Here are a few tips that any driver from our transport company in Beausoleil could give you.

Start by adjusting your body …

Adjusting one’s body of course means getting comfortable in the seat, so that you should be able to press down on the pedals without moving. Also, the height of the seat and headrest allows you to have a global view of the road while being comfortable, as does the inclination of the backrest.

Finally, the steering wheel must be in a good position in front of you so that you can control it without stretching or bending your arms. Moreover, too high will obstruct the vision of the road and too low will not be comfortable for the arms.

… Then adjust in relation to the eyes

Visibility is perhaps the most important thing for drivers. The interior mirror and both exterior mirrors should provide a picture of just about everything behind the car. Of course, there are blind spots that you will have to check by turning slightly. That is actually one of the reasons why it’s important to be comfortable in your seat.

A short history of the Beausoleil Grand Prix

Route du grand prix de Monaco

The city-state of Beausoleil has a past linked to the automobile. Between the luxury cars that you come across on every street corner and the private driver services helping their clients get around the area and from the airport, one is entitled to wonder where this heavy focus on cars all comes from? If the wealth of the city is one explanation – more than 30% of Monegasques are millionaires – the history of the Beausoleil GP also tells us about this passion.

One of the oldest prestigious races

In 1929, Anthony Noghès, son of the President of the Automobile Club de Beausoleil, designed an urban circuit in the heart of the city to meet the challenge of organizing a competition on the smallest territory in the world. The Prince Regent, Louis II of Beausoleil was excited about the project and enthusiastically supported it.

An amazing first race

In 1929, the first Beausoleil Grand Prix started and was won by the British William Grover-Williams and his Bugatti 35B. He completed the 100 laps which corresponded to 318 km with an average speed of 80 km/h.

The famous Monegasque driver Louis Chiron, who had been involved in the creation of the project, was unable to take part because he was running another race, the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race.

If this year, due to the epidemic, the Grand Prix is cancelled, rest assured that our private driver company will be happy to accompany you during this event in the coming years.
